Retropia® Retro Flash
Rated 4.9 stars out of 418+ reviewsThe Retropia® Retro Flash Pro delivers compact, directional lighting for creators who want a travel-friendly form. It weighs just 52 g and is roughly the size of an AirPods case, so it slips easily into a pocket or bag while offering neutral daylight flash that flatters skin tones and reproduces colors faithfully. No harshness, no bulk.
Choose your intensity across four power levels (1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1/1) to go from gentle fill to bold pop, recycling in as little as 0.1 seconds, so no moment slips by. Flash and continuous light modes are one switch apart, covering ambient fill, portraits, video, and food photography, inside or outside. The built-in 450 mAh lithium battery delivers up to 800 flashes per charge, and thanks to the USB-C port, a power bank can recharge it while you travel.

BEST FOR
Travel, portraits, nightlife, and street photography, plus hybrid photo-video creators wanting refined retro lighting without heavy gear.
A standard hot shoe holds the Retro Flash, which triggers through one contact at the center. Any camera that has this contact is compatible.
Check the metal mount on the top of your camera. When you see a big round contact in its middle, you are set. Most Canon, Sony, Nikon, Fujifilm, Pentax and Olympus bodies are covered.
A small number of cameras have had that centre contact removed, and the flash cannot be triggered on those:
- Canon EOS R50
- Canon EOS 1500D
- Canon EOS 3000D
- Canon EOS 200D Mark II

Frequently asked questions
It does. With a GN8 rating, it's more than enough for fill light, portraits and close-to-mid distance shooting, which is exactly what it was made for. It's not a studio strobe in disguise. It's a genuine flash scaled to how you really shoot: on the street, at night, on trips, at dinner. For those moments it delivers all you need, then vanishes into your pocket afterward.
That cheap-flash look comes from having no say over the power. Power comes in four steps, 1/1 then 1/2 then 1/4 then 1/8, letting you turn it down to a gentle touch of fill rather than a blast. The light measures 6500K, balanced to daylight, and its CRI is 96 or above, so skin tones look natural and colours come out true. Gentle when you need gentle, punchy when you need punch, and never the flat, blown-out look of a phone flash.
A universal hot-shoe mount lets it work on almost every body that has a standard hot shoe, including Sony, Fujifilm, Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, and others. Just plug and play. Slide it on, power it up, and shoot, with no adapters, no setup and no digging through menus.
Both work. A mode switch moves it between flash and continuous light, so this one small unit covers photos and video alike. Use flash for stills, then change to continuous for clips, food photos, or a steady ambient glow. Hybrid creators won't need to pack two different lights.
Its built-in 450 mAh battery delivers as many as 800 flashes on one charge, which covers most full days away. Charging is by USB-C, so the cable you use for your phone or laptop refills it, and a portable power bank works when no outlet is nearby. There are no proprietary chargers and no AA batteries to buy again and again.
Recycling takes as little as 0.1 seconds at low power and about 3 seconds at maximum output. For how most people shoot, with fill light and candid moments, it's ready before you are. There's no standing around while it recharges between frames.
Really that small. It weighs 52 g, about the size of an AirPods case, and measures 45 × 22 × 62 mm. It slips into a pocket or the corner of a camera bag and you forget it's there until you need it. That's the whole point: intentional light you'll actually carry, instead of a big flash that stays home.
Not at all. Slide it onto your hot shoe, turn it on, pick a power level, shoot. There's no app, no menus to learn, no light meter math. If you can change one setting, you can use this. Start at a low power for fill, turn it up if you want more, that's the whole learning curve.
You have 100 days to shoot with it. If it isn't for you, reach out and we'll sort it. Refund, swap, whatever makes it right. No interrogation, no restocking runaround.
Film aesthetic, guaranteed.
Spend 100 days shooting with it. When it doesn't suit you, return it. No stress, no questions asked, no catch.
